Leons Institute of Hair Design About the school

     Our Mission.
The Leon Institute of Hair Design offers a modern, up-to-date program of study to prepare students for careers in hair dressing and Cosmetology. Our instructors are vitally interested in helping students complete the program, prepare for the state licensing exam, and find jobs in the field.

     In Historic Bridgeport.
Our Facility is a four-story, historic building in downtown Bridgeport. The school's clinic and classrooms occupy the second and third floors, while a busy, independent beauty salon, attracting clients of many nationalities, is at street level. The school's administrative offices are on the fourth.
Leon's licensed professionals teach theory, demonstrate a full range of techniques, and supervise practical (clinic) assignments. In addition, outstanding hair stylist from leading salons, manufacturers' representatives and other specialists present lectures and workshops. Field trips to hair style shows and beauty salons are offered by the staff to bring life to theory and enhance practical experience.
Our air-conditioned building has modern, efficient equipment and is a comfortable place for learning. There are rooms and areas for theory, practical studies, lockers, lunch, library books and study, offices, and student records.
In 2003 we celebrated our 45th year as a school of hair dressing, which is now called Cosmetology arts and sciences. (Leon Institute is the second of two schools of hair dressing that have occupied this location since 1935.) Thousands of students have been graduated from Leon Institute and then have gone on to become successful hairstylists in many areas of beauty field.

     Easy to reach.
Our school is located in the center of City of Bridgeport and is easy to reach by car, bus, or train. (We are a short walk from lighted and attended municipal parking, the bus terminal, and the train station.)
